1970 LANCIA FULVIA COUPE RALLYE 1.3S
A rare model in a sought after colour, matching numbers, LHD, restored and lovely.
History of this car
This is a late Rallye S model (tipo 818.360), being registered new on 03/01/1970 in Perugia, Italy.
The “S” model features hotter cams, a brake servo and an oil cooler.
This is a low ownership car which stayed in the Perugia region until being imported by us into the UK in 2023 and is currently being UK registered (NOVA cleared with all duties paid).
Our car is ASI registered and wears an older professional type restoration with a charmingly original feel to it; recorded mileage is 29k klms which is more likely 129k klms, or about 80k miles from new.
Bodywork
Finished in desirable Mendoza blue which we believe is the original delivery colour. A very good solid body which is really straight with paintwork which is nice and thin being an older, windows out type repaint with a few age related blemishes as you would expect.
The chassis is excellent with a corrosion free subframe with correct subframe mount gaps and our inspection showed no evidence of accident or rust repair.
Glass is all original and unmarked, and our car has all the correct trim including wheel embellishers and the right badging.
Mechanicals
A major mechanical overhaul was said to have been carried out when the car was restored, although there is no paper trail for this, par for the course with Italian restorations. Certainly there is evidence of a lot of work having been carried out in recent times to a high standard.
We have been through the car and as part of the pre-sale preparation, our car has had 4 x new Pirelli Cinturato tyres fitted, new front suspension bushes, a fresh battery and a lubrication service.
On test it drives beautifully and it has a new advisory free MOT until June 2024.
Interior
This has been partly retrimmed with the seats and door cards having been expertly redone in OE type and very comfortable cloth. The original rubber floor matting is in good condition and the dash top is uncracked. The gauges aren’t fogged and even the clock works, rare for a Fulvia!
Our car has been fitted with seat belts to the front seats, and also sports an Autovox radio/tape player with speakers on the rear shelf, which could have been fitted from new.
Boot
Super clean with spare, tie down, protective cover and undamaged original rubber matting.
Summary
Many say the first series Fulvia is the best driving and best made of all series. This one is a rare model and in cracking good nick, not to be missed.
