An incredibly original LHD Pininfarina coupe – paint, interior, low miles and owners, unrepeatable!

History of this car

According to a PRA ownership report on file, this exceptional Flavia was first sold in July 1966 by the famous Lancia, Autobianchi and Piaggio dealer in Biella, Franco Bocca and C. They started in business in 1930, and were very close to the Lancia family being involved with racing activities.

Our car is the tipo 815.330 model benefitting from the larger 1800c motor and equipped with a single Solex carburettor. Specified from new in arguably the most stylish colour for one of these cars, Lancia blue, with a contrasting grey cloth interior, and expensively optioned with a Voxson Explorer radio with electric aerial.

The Flavia changed hands only for the first time in 1978 being sold again in 2002 to an Italian enthusiast living in the UK who imported it only parting with the car this year. So, this is a genuine 3 owner from new vehicle which has been in the UK for some 20 years.

Mileage recorded is 91,000 klms or about 57,000 miles which whilst not guaranteed is entirely believable given the exceptional originality and condition of the vehicle – seeing is believing!

We’re talking mostly first factory paint with ultra low paint gauge readings, an all original conserved interior and incredibly all delivery papers including the instrumentation tags, handbook pack and pouch and brochures.

This Flavia featured at the “Lancia in the Piazza” event in Covent Garden and today must represent one of the best unrestored 1960s Lancias.

This is a completely dry, accident and rust free car that presents stunningly in it’s original Lancia Blue paintwork. There is evidence of some localised repainting, but most of the paint we believe to be the original.

The sides are arrow straight and ripple free with factory fresh panel fitment; opening panels shut with a satisfying clunk.

Chassis wise this Flavia is incredibly rot and accident free with factory undercoating in evidence throughout; to preserve the car as part of our pre-sale preparation it has been cavity wax injected.

The chrome and stainless trim is in unmarked condition and the glass is perfect.

These are quiet and refined cars and this one doesn’t disappoint with a smooth and comfortable ride.

Our car’s whisper quiet engine has factory oil pressure and starts on the button. It has enjoyed careful maintenance over the years including recent attention to the steering and water pump. In 2019 technicians at Omicron conducted an overhaul involving replacing gearbox seals and 3rd gear synchromesh plus a deep engine service including setting valve clearances, timing, replacing coolant pipes and the clutch plate, invoice for £5000 on file.

Under bonnet presentation is very correct with factory finishes and the car has just been serviced by us with new oils and filters plus attention to the brakes and fuel system.

Whist being MOT exempt, our car has an advisory free MOT until April 2023.

This is a strength of this car being all original, and in fine condition. Opening the door on this Flavia you are met by a heady aroma with superbly comfortable seats, unmarked floor matting and headlining plus a beautiful fully stocked dashboard complete with the original Autovox radio. It all works – including the clock.

In great all original condition with original matting, spare, cover and tie down in place, plus of course the full Lancia toolkit and Battaini jack strapped in place.

We’ve not seen one of these in this superb unmolested condition before. It is supplied with the original Italian number plates, cancelled Italian logbook, dealer pouch, ASI papers and plaque, handbooks, tags and a good history file.
